Therapeutic Support

Therapeutic support allows individuals to develop and strengthen coping skills while gaining insight into ones identity and patterns of behaviour. Our counsellors and therapeutic support workers will complete an initial risk assessment plan within the young person’s first 24 hours. We then seek to implement support mechanisms for young people with emotional needs, behavioural difficulties and mild learning disabilities. We will assess the needs of each individual and provide bespoke care plans with our multi-disciplinary team who can offer specialist support.

We will clearly explain what the expectations are from staff and what the consequences will be if the agreements are not followed. This is to create reasonable boundaries to help support young people in their future independent lives, this will be verbally explained and given to the young person in writting. Upon addmission they will sign it.

We also understand the wide range of challenges that young people face and if agreements are broken, they will be given support and mechanisms to understand why certain negative patterns of behaviour are unacceptable while doing our best to maintain a good relationship. Using integrative models of therapy (Cognitive Behavioural, Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches), we will implement complementary action plans and provide young people with regular sessions through our registered in-house psychotherapist.

Our mission is to support and safeguard young people in care who are making their transition towards adulthood.

Our philosophy is to help young people to know who they are and want to become by assisting individuals to improve in every area of their lives Step By Step.
